Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in First Presbyterian Church, Waukon, for Joseph Richard Reeder, 78, who died Monday, June 24, in Cedar Rapids following a stroke. Mr. Reeder had been in poor health for some time.

He was born September 14, 1884, at English Bench and was a son of Joseph Richard Reeder and Evelyn Sherwood Reeder. He attended the local schools and June 27, 1905, married Edith Long in Mount Hope Church.

Mr. Reeder was employed with the State Highway Commission for 35 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. O.H. (Velora) Rierson, Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Hubert (Edna) Hermanson, Waukon, nine grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Furnie Wiemerslage, Cedar Rapids.

The Rev. William Tjaden will officiate at the funeral and burial will be in Oakland cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bernard and Hubert Hermanson, Monty Rierson, Robert Reeder, Truman Wurtzel and Donald Adney.
