The funeral of Mrs. Joseph Reeder, 88, was held Wednesday, May 23, at 1:30 p.m. from First Presbyterian church, with the Rev. Wm. Tjaden officiating. Martin's Funeral Home was in charge and burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Hubert Hermanson, Jr., Bernard Hermanson, Monte Rierson, Truman Wurtzel, Steven Wurtzel and Richard Hermanson.
Mrs. Reeder died Sunday at Decorah where she had been a hospital patient for five weeks.
She was a life-long resident of Allamakee county, a daughter of Daniel and Nancy (Duff) Long, born September 27, 1884, in Dorchester. She was educated in the local schools, and was married June 27, 1905, to Joseph Reeder, who died in 1963.
Two daughters remain. They are Mrs. Hubert (Edna) Hermanson of Waukon, and Mrs. Orland (Velora) Rierson of Baroda, Mich., and there are also nine grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. One remaining sister is Mrs. Eliza Mohwinkle of Waukon.
Three children preceded their mother in death: Lloyd Donald and Florence Reeder. Two brothers, Albert and Wallace Long, are also deceased.
She was a member of First Presbyterian church of Waukon.
