Services Held For Truman W. Overeen

Funeral services for Truman W. Overeen were held in Schutte's Funeral Home, Postville, Thursday, December 28 at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Dick Harberts officiated. Mr. Overeen died at his home Monday, December 25.

Truman William Overeen, son of William Henry and Tabitha Booker Overeen, was born at Bayle City, Illinois, January 12, 1901. He attended the Ramsey School. In 1921 he moved to Oelwein where he worked as a mechanic at Wardells.

Mr. Overeen was united in marriage July 30, 1930 to Mildred Householder of Oelwein, at Vicksburg, Mississippi. The couple moved to Postville in 1934 and Mr. Overeen worked for the Falb Motor Co. for 32 years, retiring in 1966. He was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church, Postville.

He is survived by one son Jack, of Postville; two grandchildren, Michelle and Craig; two sisters, Mrs. Arlie Martin of Fairbank, Iowa and Mrs. Lewis Stokes of Waterloo; a brother Harry of Postville and several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred on December 21, 1970; his parents, one sister and two brothers.

Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.
