Edward John Oldag
Services were held Monday, April 15 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville for Edward J. Oldag, who died at Community Memorial Hospital, Postville, April 12. The Rev. Norman Ullestad officiated.
Edward John Oldag, son of George and Augusta Foels Oldag, was born April 14, 1883 in Clayton County, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville.
On February 12, 1918, he was united in marriage to Alma Ruckdaschel. To this union three daughters were born.
The couple lived their entire married life in their home at 240 South Maple, Postville. He was a carpenter by profession.
Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Bernice) Schneider and Mrs. Dale (Virginia) Anderson both of Postville; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Lenora Shipton of Clermont.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Mrs. Laurence (Delila) Knudtson; two brothers, Henry and Otto Oldag; three sisters, Emma Willman, Amanda Schroeder and Malinda Schultz and two great grandchildren.
Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.
