Funeral services were held at 2:30 Friday afternoon at the Community Presbyterian Church for Clarence H. Owen, 84, who passed away at the home of his daughter in Detroit, Michigan on July 17.
Rev. Walter T. Martin conducted the rites. Burial was in the Postville cemetery.
Clarence H. Owen, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Owen, was born September 4, 1866 at Juneau, Wisconsin and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elmer Thyberg, at Detroit, Michigan on July 17.
At the age of seven years, he moved with his parents to Allamakee county locating near Postville and it was here that most of his life was spent.
On October 23, 1895 he was married to Louise Miller. She preceded him in death on May 18, 1927.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Elmer Thyberg of Detroit, Michigan; three sisters, Mrs. Mattie Knuteson of Concord, California, Mrs. Alice Wagner of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, Mrs. Emma Custer of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; two brothers, Eugene of Castalia and R. F. of Sunnyside, Washington.
