Arthur Gilbertson Funeral Services Set for Friday

Arthur Gilbertson, 91, of Waukon died Monday, Nov. 9 at Veterans Memorial hospital. Funeral services have been set for Friday, Nov. 13 at 11 a.m. at Old West Paint Creek Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery. Martin funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Nov. 11, 1895 in Waukon to Peter and Hannah Bakkum Gilbertson. He attended local schools and married Cora Fossum Sept. 27, 1922 at Old West Paint Creek Church. She died March 22, 1978. He was a farmer and a member of Old West Church.
Survivors include two sons, the Rev. Gaylen of Park Ridge, IL, and Walter of Winona, MN; a daughter Emily of Waukon; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild, and two sisters, Mrs. Lulla Sorum of Waukon and Mrs. Martha Stahl of Milwaukee, WI.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a son Harry, a sister Ethel, and a brother Paul.
Casket bearers will be James, Daniel, and Charles Gilbertson, Burnell Sorum, James Normann, and Merton Iverson.
