HARMAN, SHEPHERD

A. Hart hands us a postal card from Ohio, stating that Mrs. I.A. Harman died suddenly at Mansfield, Ohio, on Wednesday evening of last week. Cause of death not stated. Mr. and Mrs. Harman started on a visit to Ohio on Tuesday afternoon and it seems that within about 24 hours thereafter, before they arrived at their destination, Mrs. Harman was dead. Mr. Harman, in a very short space of time, has buried three children, and now, if his partner has been taken away, his affliction is almost too great to be borne.

LATER: Since writing the above, letters have been received confirming the report of the death of Mrs. Harman. She died instantly on the cars, from heart disease.

~transcriber's note: she was nee Lydia Shepherd according to the 1914 obit of I.A. Harman
~more than likely Lydia was buried in Ohio - three of her children are buried in the Postville cemetery, but there is no record of her - I.A. is buried in McKendree cemetery near McConnelsville, OH, and she may be there as well
