Jeffrey David Drahn
Jeffrey David Drahn, 40, of Decorah, formerly of Postville, died Sunday, March 15, 2009 from an apparent hit and run accident near Calmar. Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 20 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. The Rev. Steve Brackett will be officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
Jeff was born May 24, 1968 in Cedar Rapids to Don and Sharon (Harris) Drahn. He graduated from Postville High School in 1986. Jeff also graduated from the Iowa School For Newly Blinded Adults and attended the University of Iowa and Portland State University.
Jeff worked in the retail business while living in Portland, OR, and was a salmon fisherman while living in Ketchican, AK. He worked in the landscaping business while living in Denver, CO from 2003-2008. Most recently, Jeff worked in snow removal and landscaping in Decorah. Jeff had many passions in life, including music, playing piano, playing the drums, Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs, and the Green Bay Packers. Jeff was fortunate enough to see Brett Favre's last win at Lambeau Field. He will be deeply missed by the many family and friends who knew him.
Survivors include his parents, Don and Sharon Drahn of Monona; one sister, Denise (Drahn) Adam of Marion; one brother, Chad Drahn of Monona; two nephews and one niece, Adrian and Jenna Adams and Daynan Drahn; aunts and uncles, Glenn and Elaine Drahn of Belle Plaine, Robert and Patricia Harris of Marion, Greg and Shirley Harris of Cedar Rapids, Bonnie and John Peal of Marion, Kevin and Roxy Smith of Cedar Rapids, and Kris White of Corpus Christi, TX.
Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents, Glender and Irene Drahn, Velma and Thurman Harris, and step-grandmother, Grace Harris.
