THOMAS MILLER
DIES AT HELENA

Was Secretary for
State G. O. P. at
One Time

Helena, Oct. 21 — ( AP) — Thomas B. Miller, 70, Helena insurance man, died here Friday after a long illness.
His widow and two sons survive.
Thomas Burchinal Miller was born in Rossville, Iowa, March 26, 1862. He was educated in the schools of Mason City and on graduation became a teacher. He came to Montana in 1889 as principle of the Dillon schools.
Teaching was abandoned as a profession when he became associated with Senator Lee Mantle and Gen. Charles S. Warren in the insurance business in Butte.
Though his father was a Democratic leader in Iowa, the son espoused the Republican political cause and from 1896 to 1903 was secretary of the Republican state central committee through some of the most active campaigns. President Roosevelt placed him in charge of the Helena assay office and he held that position for eight years.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and had served as a high officer of many of its orders.

Note: married Miss Maud Wall Sept. 10, 1902 at Helena, Montana.

From the Billings Gazette (Billings Montana) October 22, 1932

I have no other information.
