Friends and relatives of George Reeder were thrown into deepest sorrow by his death which occurred Friday (20 January 1939) in Waukon. Mr. Reeder had been ill for six weeks, and the immediate cause of his death was said to be an embolism following a severe case of pneumonia.
The deceased was born July 26, 1889, in Union City township. After ten years residence in Preston, Minnesota, he moved to Waukon in 1934, and since has been operating a garage here.
He was married to Hazel Dyrkopp on January 20, 1915, and after her death, he was married again to Vesta Burroughs on January 7, 1928.
Besides his widow, surviving are two sons by his first wife, Raymond and Melvin, and two sons by his second wife, Dale and Leland; one brother, Joseph Reeder of Waukon; and a sister, Mrs. Will Wiemerslage of Lansing; and two half brothers, James and Lafe Sheriff.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Presbyterian church with the Rev. A.C. Crouch delivering the sermon. Burial was in the English Bench cemetery.

Raymond was born in Waukon, Iowa on August 20, 1915. He died March 19, 1986 at Waupaca, Wisconsin. Burial was in Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, King, Wisconsin, with full military rites.
His survivors were his wife Margaret _____, a son Douglas of Madison, Wisconsin, 5 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Also his 4 brothers, Melvin and Dale of Waukon, Iowa, Leland of Richmond, California and Gary of Lomita, California.
