CHARLES R. STEADMAN PASSED AWAY AUG. 15

Charles Ronello Steadman, son of Samuel and Besty Jane Pratt Steadman was born in Dover, Maine, November 2, 1855. He came to Allamakee County, Iowa, with his parents in early childhood. He then came to Chickasaw County, Iowa, in 1896 where he has since resided.
In the year 1879 he was united in marriage to Ida E. Gardner at Fredericksburg, Iowa. To this union five children were born, Mrs. Harry Upham preceeded her father in death in 1931. Those surviving are: Hugh of Fredericksburg, Mrs. Bert Simmons of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Ben Moore also of Eagle Grove and Mrs. Fred May of Decorah. He had sixteen grand children and nine great grand children. He was of a family of thirteen children of whom survive, one brother and three half brothers.
He passed from this life Sunday night August 15th at the old homo where he has resided for about 50 years. He leaves many relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services were conducted in the First Baptist Church of Fredericksburg, Iowa Tuesday afternoon by Rev. U. E. Burroughs. Burial was made in Rose Hill cemetery.
