Funeral Rites to Be Tuesday Afternoon
Mrs. Frank Schultz, 71, died about 1:05 a. m. Sunday at a local hospital following a stroke. She had been a resident of Mason City for about 40 years.
Mrs. Schultz was born Bertha Decker, daughter of George and Margaret Henderson Decker, Aug. 22, 1875, in Allamakee county, Iowa. As a child she moved with the family to Rockwell where she grew to womanhood and was married to Frank Bruce in 1891.
They established their residence on a farm near Rockwell but in 1896 they moved to Nora Springs. In 1907 they moved to Mason City where Mr. Bruce preceded her in death in 1930. On Nov. 8, 1946, she was married to Frank Schultz at Waterloo. They made their home in Mason City since that time.
Surviving are her husband, a son, Forrest Bruce, Clear Lake, and 2 sisters, Miss Mabel Decker, Clear Lake, and Mrs. Maude Trevitt, San Diego, Cal., and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband and 2 children, a son and a daughter in infancy, and a sister, Mrs. Lora Demo.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p. m. Tuesday at the chapel of the McAuley and Son funeral home with the Rev. Edward W. Day, pastor of the Congregational church, Clear Lake, officiating Burial will be at Elmwood cemetery.
