William Harris

William "Bill" W. Harris, age 89, of Bagley, WI passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at the Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI.

He was born Aug. 25, 1918 in Brodtville, WI, son of Archie and Katie (Sedlemayer) Harris. He served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He married Ruth Waraxa March 12, 1946 in Dubuque.

He worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad and later as a TV repairman. He was a member of the Bagley Fire Dept. for over 45 years. He also belonged to the Liscum Brothers American Legion Post in Bagley, WI.

He is survived by his wife Ruth of Prairie du Chien, WI, his children; Patricia Harris of Patch Grove, WI, Gary (Judy) Harris of La Crosse, WI, Dick (Rita Wayne) Harris of Prairie du Chien, WI and Christine (Larry) Gavin of Waukon, a sister, Wilma Brown of Mineral Point, WI, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held Sat., July 26 noon at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel. Military Rites will be accorded by the Liscum Brothers American Legion Post of Bagley, WI. Interment will be at a later date.
