Gustave Dee's Rites Monday

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. from Zion Reformed United Church of Christ in Waukon for Gustave Dee, 93. The Rev. D. D. Kauffman officiated at the services and burial was in Oakland cemetery. Hjalmer Olson, Reuben Grotegut, Edwin Johnson, Mulroy McDermott, Elmer Fogt and Lawrence Ricker were pallbearers.

Mr. Dee died Friday, Dec. 8 in Waukon Veterans Memorial Hospital where he was a patient for three days. He was born Jan. 5, 1874 in Germany and came to the United States when he was 12 years old. His parents were August and Ernestine (Born) Dee. He lived in Makee township and in 1926 moved to Waukon.

He was educated in the local schools and Oct. 16, 1902 married Louise Wurtzel in Waukon. He was a farmer until his retirement.

Survivors are his wife, a son William of Waukon and a daughter Mrs. Roy (Hazel) Kuntz of ElMonte, Calif. A sister Mrs. Ida Nagel of Waukon, 13 Grandchildren, 22 great great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by a son Elmer, brothers Bert and Ernest and a sister Augusta.

Mr. Dee was a member of Zion Reformed United Church of Christ in Waukon. Martin Brothers was in charge of arrangements.
