BERNARD J. JOHNSON

WAUKON, Iowa -- Bernard J. Johnson, 56, of Waukon died Monday night at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, where friends may call Wednesday. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Waukon.

Mr. Johnson was a retired carpenter and a Korean Conflict Army veteran. His wife, the former Gladys Vickery, died in 1979.

Surviving are a son, Butch of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Brenda A. Hearn, and a step-daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Carol) Martin, both of Waukon, two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth of Cedar Rapids, and four sisters, Mrs. Charles (Edith) Rosarek, Mrs. DeForest (Marion) Olver, and Mrs. Maxine Whitney, all of Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Frank (Iona) Vecchi of Fremont, Neb.
