MRS. SNITKER, 74, DIED AT HOME HERE TUESDAY

Funeral Services Will Be at Salem Reformed church Friday Afternoon

The death of Mrs. William Snitker, 74, occurred Tuesday at her home in the east part of town, following an illness of six months.

As Lena Grotegut she was born to Mr. and Mrs. Simon [Wilhelmina Goeke] Grotegut on June 3, 1873, at Newton, Wis., and she came to Allamakee county when a girl. On February 23, 1895 her marriage to William Snitker took place and they settled on a farm in Ludlow township. About 15 years ago Mr. Snitker gave up farming and purchased the former L. S. Meier residence where her death occurred.

Surviving are her husband, five daughters and two sons, namely: Mrs. Elmer Osterholtz (Hulda), Mrs. Anton DeBuhr (Ada), Mrs. John Baumgartner (Florence), Mrs. Paul Hesse (Clara), Mrs. Urban Sanderman (Dorothy), Alfred and Clarence Snitker, all of Waukon and vicinity. Also two brothers and two sisters, Simon and Henry Grotegut, Mrs. Fred Bechtel and Mrs. Lydia Thomae. There are 17 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Mrs. Snitker was a member of Salem Reformed church of Ludlow, and the Ladies' Aid society.

Funeral services will be held Friday at two p.m. at Salem Reformed church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Edmund DeBuhr, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Following are the casket bearers: Victor DeBuhr, Robert Baumgartner, Howard Snitker, Roger Hesse, Boyd Groezinger and Albert Flage.
