Christ J. Meyer
Mr. Christ J. Meyer passed away at his home Monday afternoon, Feb.10, 1941, following a three years’ illness. Death was due to a heart attack. He was born on a farm near Dorchester, Ia., Oct. 21, 1874, and was married to Miss Emma Meyer in the year of 1907.

Two children were born to this union, whom with the mother survive, Mrs. Carl Fruechte of Caledonia and Mrs. Verna Timmesch, New Albin. Seven grandchildren and one brother, Frank Meyer of Alma, Mo., also survive him.

Deceased was a good Christian man, a devoted husband and father, and a kind friend and neighbor. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Juergen Meyer, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed church at Wheatland with the Rev. E. J. Florin of our local church officiating. Burial was made in St. John’s cemetery.
Pall bearers were six nephews of the deceased: Albert Meyer, Elmer Meiners, Clarence Meyer, Alvin Meyer, Albert and Henry Meyer.

Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were Frank Meyer, Alma, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Meyer and daughter, Gloria Ann of Norborne, Mo., and Mrs. Andrew Henry of Waukon.
