Death of Frank H. Robinson
The many friends Frank H. Robinson were grieved to learn of his death which occurred at his home here last Wednesday morning, Feb. 12th. The end came peacefully after an illness of two years, the Angel of Death severing the threads of life as a fitting reward for a long and devoted Christian life.Deceased, the only son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John T. Robinson, was born in Dorchester, Iowa, June 25, 1870. He was married to Miss Nettie Mary Niclai Sept. 27, 1922, at New Albin where the new home was established. He had been in the hardware business here since the fall of 1923.
A loving and devoted husband and brother and a kind neighbor, he will be greatly missed by all. He enjoyed life and the association of his fellowmen and was ever ready to lend a helping hand whenever needed. Of a sunny and friendly nature, he made friends of all his acquaintances. For twelve years he served as City Clerk, his honesty and upright character yielding a power for good in his community which a shadow has fallen now that his presence is withdrawn. In the warmth of the domestic hearth his voice will never again be heard; before the fireside of friendship his genial handclasp will be missed, out where the winter winds blow and the spring flowers wave, his body lies buried, but as the spirit is greater than the flesh he still lives in the bosom of God and in the hearts of those left behind. Mr. Robinson was a member of the M. E. church.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife and three sisters, Mrs. E. W. Zamzow of Ada, Minn., who was unable to attend the funeral due to the ill health of her husband; Mrs. Hope Geer of Chicago, Ill., and Miss Daisy Robinson of New Albin.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10 o’clock a the hoe with the Rev. Lloyd Bartholomew of Lansing officiating. Casket bearers here were Walter Weymiller, Albert Freuchte, Otto Hurley, Nick Rouster, John Mendenhall and Paul Meyer, members of the old council he worked with. The remains were taken by auto hearse to Arcadia where burial was made in the cemetery. Undertaker George Fetting and a minister of that place taking charge of the funeral there.
The stores were closed here during the services. Relatives from a distance attending the funeral here were Mrs. R. B. Geer, Chicago, Ill.; Henry Robinson, La Crosse, and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Barlow and son Robert of Madison, Wis.
