Marland "Bud" Johnson

Marland "Bud" Johnson, son of Oscar and Selma (Wilke) Johnson, was born Feb. 2, 1926 in Waukon. Bud died April 10, 1993 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. He was 67.

He attended rural Jefferson #8 elementary school near Forest Mills in Allamakee County. On March 24, 1944 he married Lorraine Berg in Decorah. On June 20, 1069, he married Joann Andregg Snitker.

Bud owned and operated Johnson Trucking in Waukon for the past 25 years. He served as a driver and EMT for Waukon Ambulance Service and was an active member of the Lansing Lions Club, Ducks Unlimited and Pheasants Forever.

Survivors include four sons, Eugene Johnson of Phoenix, Ariz., John (Connie) Johnson of Worthington, Minn., Michael (Linda) Johnson of Burlington, and Russell (Sheila) Johnson of Phoenix; one daughter, Bonnie (David) Lewis, Phoenix; four stepsons, Bruce (Connie) Snitker of Cresco, Richard Snitker of Cherokee, Craig (Kathy) Snitker of Hutchinson, Minn., and Clark (Norma) Snitker of Bethlehem, Pa.; his mother, Selma Neverman of Waukon; his first wife, Lorraine Hefel, Phoenix; 19 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; four sisters, Marnetta Snitker, Postville, Delores (Stanley) Berg of Frankville, Norma (Jim) Bloxham of Waukon and Dorothy (Gary) Gress of Waukon; six brothers, Roger (Norma) Johnson, Dale (Beverly) Johnson and Dean (Delores) Johnson, all of Waukon, LaVern (Jeanette) Johnson of Postville, Keith (Darlene) Johnson and DuWayne (Linda) Johnson, all of Elgin; three step-brothers and two step-sisters.

Bud is preceded in death by his father; his wife Joann; a daughter, Linda; an infant son, Kimberly Clark; and an infant sister, Helen Jean.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 14, 1993 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Waukon. The Rev. Lynn Groe officiated. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
