Lester Cecil Jones

Lester Cecil Jones was born Jan 2, 1936 in Harpers Ferry to Milo and Myrtle (Shellsmith) Jones. He graduated from Waukon High School and was employed by John Deere Dubuque Works for 27 years.

He died Monday, Dec. 15, 1997 at Finley Hospital in Dubuque at the age of 61.

Surviving are two sons, Reggie and Lester, both of Dubuque; two daughters, Leslie Houselog of Dubuque, and Angela and husband Chuck Woods of Holmen, WI; eight grandchildren; three brothers and their wives, LeRoy and Bonnie, and Earl and Ruth, all of Harpers Ferry, and James and Dorothy of Prairie du Chien, WI; a sister, Cleone Kelley of Houston, MN, and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Jones of Monona.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and a brother John.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18 at Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home in Dubuque. The Rt. Rev. Monsignor William Leonard officiated. Burial was in mount Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque.

Casket bearers were David, Larry, Darwin, Randy and Dale Jones, and Michael Kelly.
