Clara McGeough

Clara T. McGeough, 85, Dubuque, died Monday, January 10, 2005, at home. Funeral services were held Friday, January 14 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Hoffman-Schneider Funeral Home, Dubuque, was in charge of arrangements.

Clara was born May 31, 1919, in Lansing, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Minnie (Milham) Weipert.

She married Floyd Robert McGeough February 21, 1939, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lansing.

Clara worked at Dubuque Nursing and Rehab Center for 13 years, retiring in 1984. She loved her work and she was loved by the patients.

Clara spent most of her time enjoying her children, her grandchildren, and her small companion dog Bengie. She enjoyed gardening and helping her neighbors and friends. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish for 55 years.

She is survived by three sons, Donald (Mary Ann) McGeough, Clarence McGeough, and Michael "Mick" McGeough, all of Dubuque; one daughter-in-law, Jean McGeough of Dubuque; and three grandchildren, Shane, Kelly, and Kyle, all of Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd, on May 17, 1990; one son, Gary; five sisters; and four brothers.
