Norval Merle Kumpf 1932 - 1967

The instant death of Norval Kumpf, 34, of Dorchester Saturday evening, resulted from a one car accident when the car in which he was riding struck a bridge abutment about 14 miles north of Waukon on Highway 13, death due to a broken neck. There were no witnesses and the car was a total wreck.

Norval Merle Kumpf was born in Dorchester on September 3, 1932, a son of Floyd and Bessie (Smith) Kumpf. He had been the star route driver between Waukon and Dorchester.

Survivors are his mother; three brothers, Nathan, Neil and Fred of Dorchester; three sisters, Sheila Nelson of Dorchester; and Doreen Muller and Audrey Rogan of Rockford, Illinois.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 10th at 1:00 p.m. from the Dorchester Methodist Church with interment in the church cemetery.

Potter-Haugen Funeral Home, Caledonia, Minnesota, was in charge of arrangements.

Dorchester Man Killed

Waukon – Services are being arranged in Caledonia, Minn., for Norval Kumpf, 34, who was killed Saturday night when his car crashed into a highway 13 bridge near Dorchester.

Kumpf, a star route driver, was returning home to Dorchester at the time of the crash.
