Funeral services were held for Floyd Kumpf at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Methodist Church at Dorchester with Rev. Ernest Neilson as officiating clergyman. Interment was at the Dorchester Cemetery. Pallbearers were Walter Kumpf, Alton Kumpf, Eddie Rosendahl, Roy Kumpf, Arthur Goodno and Alvin Mohwinkle.
Floyd William Kumpf, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Kumpf, was born April 9, 1903, and passed away at his home on December 31, 1963, after a lingering illness.
He was united in marriage to Bessie Smith on September 21, 1923, and leaves to mourn his wife and seven children; four sons, Nathan, Neil, Norval and Freddy, all of Dorchester; and three daughters, Mrs. Irvin (Doreen) Muller and Mrs. Hank (Audrey) Rogen of Rockford, Illinois; and Mrs. Merlin (Sheila) Nelson of Caledonia, Minnesota; three sisters, Mrs. Louis (Flora) Staggemeyer of Eitzen, Minnesota; Mrs. George (Emma) Dehning of Dorchester; and Mrs. Carm (Dorothy) Wantz of Knoxville, Iowa; and two grandchildren, Karyn Rogen and Shari Muller.
His entire lifetime was spent farming near Dorchester until 1958 when he moved to Dorchester and operated a grocery store.
