Funeral services were held last Friday morning at St. Joseph's Catholic church for Mrs. James Crowley, who passed away at her home in this city Wednesday morning, December 12, 1934, Rev. L. Hayes officiating. Interment was made in St. Joseph's cemetery.

Bridget Thornton was born near Brownsville, Minnesota, November 4, 1875, where she grew to young womanhood.

On September 6, 1894, she was united in marriage to Mr. James Crowley, at La Crosse, Wisconsin. Following their marriage they became residents of New Albin and have resided here since. To this union eight children were born, three of whom have preceded their mother in death.

Those left to mourn her departure are the sorrowing husband; two daughters, Helen and Zeta of La Crosse, Wisconsin; three sons, Leo, Leonard and Joe of New Albin; two sisters, Mrs. George Cerney and Miss Hannah Thornton of La Crosse; three brothers, James and John of New Albin; and Peter of Dakota; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The deceased was always generous and charitable, ever ready to help anywhere she could with a happy smile and a cheering word. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of a large circle of friends, who respected and admired her fine qualities, and appreciated the part she had taken in social affairs. The entire community joins in extending sympathy to the bereaved family.

The casket bearers were Ignatius Imhoff, Ulrich Gantenbein, Gustave Weymiller, John Higgins, Simon Medicus and John LaTronch.
