Glessner Webster

Services for Glessner Webster were Friday at the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville. The Rev. Terrance Hennesy officiated.

Paul Schutte was the soloist and Marian Schutte was the organist. The interment was in the Postville Cemetery with Schutte Funeral Home in charge.

Glessner Webster, daughter of William and Charity (McDonald) Harris, was born March 25, 1889 near Postville. She died September 5, 1989 at the Good Samaritan Center at Postville.

She graduated from Postville High School in 1909. In 1912 she was married to Arthur C. Webster at McGregor. They lived in Postville all of their lives.

She was active in Eastern Star and had been a member since 1915. She had also served as Worthy matron.

She is preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1963, a son, Bruce, one brother, Herman Harris, and 4 sisters, Bertha Orr, Edith Churchill, Edna Oehring, and Bessis "Ad" Beucher.

Surviving are 3 grandchildren, Dr. Ann Webster-Shepherd of New York City, John Webster of Silverton, OR, and Linda Webster-Brunsman of Vernonia, OR, and 3 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church and had served as President of the UPW.

Pallbearers were Darwin Fritz, Grant, Stuart, Larry and Daryl Schultz and Marvin Chevalier.
