Arthur Clark Webster
Arthur Clark Webster, son of W. S. and Ellen Clark Webster, was born August 12, 1884 in Postville, Iowa, and resided in the community for his entire life.
He passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 24, 1963, at the age of 79 years, four months and 12 days. He had been ill for four years.
Arthur attended Postville Public Schools and Business College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Later he joined his father in the insurance field, the latter having established one of the first general agencies in northeast Iowa. His association with this field continued until his retirement in 1959. He married Glessner Harris in 1912, in McGregor, Iowa.
Arthur Webster united with the Community Presbyterian Church of Postville on January 7, 1923. He was a member of Brotherly Love lodge No. 204, A. F. and A. M., having served as secretary and Master. He was also a member of the El Kahir Shrine Temple in Cedar Rapids and held various offices in the O. E. S. and I.O.O.F. lodges of Postville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Roy; and his sister, Ruby Webb.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Bruce of Sioux City; and three grandchildren, Ann, John and Linda.
Funeral services were conducted in The Community Presbyterian Church on Friday at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Walter T. Martin in charge of the rites. Ray Douglass conducted Masonic services. Burial was in Postville cemetery
