Vernie L. Griffin, 76, Waukon, died Wednesday, July 20, 1977, in a Waukon hospital.

She was born May 12, 1901 to Russell and Barbara (Hahn) Lane. She was married January 12, 1921 to John Griffin and he died in 1970.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. George (Della) Donovan; Mrs. Dave (Genevieve) Lageson; and Mrs. Dean (Karen) Drew, all of Rochester, Minnesota; two sons, Greg Griffin of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Jack Griffin, Jr. of Waukon; 20 grandchil­dren; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Florence Gan­tenbein of River Town, Wyom­ing; Mrs. Raphael (Ardis) Teff of Marshfield, North Carolina; Mrs. Keith (Jacqueline) Schroeder of Win­ton, California; and Mrs. Bertie (Faye) Gluck of Alta, California.

She was preceded in death by four brothers.

Service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday in St. Patrick's church. Rev. Fredrick Heles will offici­ate and burial will be in Mt. Oli­vet Cemetery, Waukon.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Friday in the Martin Brothers Funeral Home, Waukon.
