Entered Into Eternal Rest
Brief mention was made in these columns last week of the passing of Mrs. J.T. Robinson, who was called to her reward February 2, 1926, and, although her passing was not unexpected, having hovered between life and death for some time, a gloom of sorrow was cast over all. She suffered a paralytic stroke in October, followed by several others later.
Georgianna Alberta Haines was the second oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Haines, and was born June 1, 1845, at Galena, Illinois, coming with her parents to Lansing, Iowa, in 1852. Three years later they moved to Dorchester, Iowa.
On October 19, 1867, she was united in marriage to John T. Robinson at Dorchester by the Rev. James Frothingham, living in Lansing until 1870. They then came to Jefferson, Minnesota, and in 1873 settled in New Albin, Iowa, which place has been their home ever since.
Four children were born to this union, Frank and Daisy of New Albin; Mrs. Maud Zamzow of Ada, Minnesota; and Mrs. Hope Geer of Chicago, Illinois, all of whom were present at the last sad moments.
She leaves to mourn her loss, besides a sorrowing husband and children, two sisters, Mrs. Cecelia Harrington of Farmington, Minnesota; and Mrs. Ella Ward of Portland, Oregon; one brother, Frank Haines, of Spokane, Washington; and three grandchildren, Hope, Edward and Frances Zamzow.
Mrs. Robinson was a good wife and mother, kind friend and neighbor, a member of the M.E. Church and the W.F.M.S., and a faithful attendant at Sunday School. In 1917 she celebrated her golden wedding anniversary.
The funeral services were held at the family home Thursday afternoon by Rev. W.H. Smith, local pastor, a large number of old friends attending to pay their last respects. A wealth of flowers were contributed showing the esteem in which deceased was held. Interment was made in the New Albin Cemetery.
