Edward B. Haas Funeral Monday
The funeral of Edward B. Haas was held at St. Patrick's Church Monday April 29, with a requiem mass clelebrated by the Rev. Robert Moran. Burial was made in St. Mary's Cemetery at Lycurgus. Mr. Haas was born at Lycurgus, Sept. 8, 1877. He was the son of Johanna Troendle and Daniel Haas. He grew to manhood in this vicinity. Later he worked a farm at Monona, operated an oil station in Decorah, and for 20 years drove a truck for the Alpha and Cole Rendering Service. At the time of his death he was a salesman for A.W. Thompson Mineral Company.
April 9, 1913 he was married to Hedwig K. Miller at Caledonia, Minn. She preceded him in death April 30, 1937.
August 7, 1950 his marriage to Elsie Ferring Haas took place at Waukon. He is survived by his wife, three foster children, Vincent Haas, Waukon, Mrs. Lawrence Bresnahan, Waukon, and Mrs. Paul Ryan, Oelwein. Nine grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Emma Duggan, Waukon, two nieces, and one nephew.
Pallbearers who served were: Valiere Dundee, Leonard Rolfs, Steve Wiedner, Howard Shrag, Dale Delury, and Matt Ryan.
Co-workers of Cole Rendering Service, Manuel Herold, Russell Underwood, Bon Bohlman, Don Anderson, Lawrence Jeager, Gail Carmack, Ike Peters, and George Strub ascted as honorary pallbearers.
