She was a member of Women of the Moose

SOUTH ELGIN – Rose Marie Johnson, 67, of South Elgin and formerly of St. Charles, died Sunday, July 2, 2006, at St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin.

She was born June 5, 1939, in Lansing, Iowa, to Cletus and Ellen Betsinger.

She was a member of St. Patrick Church and the Women of the Moose.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband of 45 years, Cliff; six children, James (Remi) of South Elgin, Joel (Jill) of Cortland, Jerry (Tina) of South Elgin, Jeff (Heather) of St. Charles, Jason Nyberg of St. Charles and Julie (Chris) Waxman of South Elgin; five grandchildren, C.J. Waxman, Jenny Rose Johnson, Loan Waxman, Heather O'Connor and Olivia Rose Waxman; a great-grandson, Chase Allen; six brothers, Ken (Pam) Betsinger of Fairbault, Minn., Don "Oscar" (Kathy) Betsinger of Bloomingdale, Minn., George (Carol) Betsinger of Fall Rivers, Wis., Bill Betsinger of Lansing, Iowa, Steve (Kim) Betsinger of Butte, Mont., and Jeff Betsinger of St. Charles; three sisters, Georgia (Ambrose) Murphy of Center Point, Iowa, Mary Hazelwood of St. Charles and Patty (Glenn) Wilson of Geneva; several nieces and nephews; and her great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Robert Betsinger.

The visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St., corner of Routes 64 and 25, St. Charles. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 6, at St. Patrick Church, 408 Cedar St., St. Charles. Burial will be at Whitney Cemetery, Campton Township. Contributions can be made to a local autism foundation.
