Robert Teff Killed in Action

Mr. and Mrs. Henry G. Teff of Dorchester received word this week that their son Robert, 20, had been killed in action in Italy Saturday, February 19, making the second son in the Teff family to make the supreme sacrifice in World War II. An older brother, Donald, lost his life while serving with the coast artillery off the coast of California on January 1st, 1942. On October 11, 1942 his two brothers Robert and John enlisted in the service and neither one has since been home. Robert volunteered as a tank man to go overseas shortly after being in training due to the company being short a man. John is serving in the South Pacific.
Besides his parents and a brother John, he is survived by the following brother and sisters: Mrs. Andrew Goodish, of Uniontown, Penn; Walter, a senior in the Waukon high school; Lucille, Paul, Carol Ann and Patricia, all at home.
Mr. Teff it will be remembered served as a member of the famous Rainbow Division in World War I and for some years has been the rural mail carrier out of Dorchester.
The sympathy of the entire county goes out to the Teff family in their loss, of their two sons, both of whom were heroes and who suffered death for their country
