Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Milton Robert Hartley, age 60, died Saturday, November 7, 1987 at his home in Dubuque, Iowa. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 9 at Egelhof-Casper-Strueber Funeral Home in Dubuque, Iowa. Attending the funeral from this area were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hartley and Violet Howes of Waukon, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Monserud of Waterville, Iowa and Paul Howes of Dorchester, Iowa.
Milton was born April 25, 1927 in New Albin, Iowa to Sydney and Mabel (Olson) Hartley. The family moved to Dubuque, Iowa where he attended school. On June 28, 1947 he married Mary Louise Marihart in Dubuque. He was associated with Excel Photo Service for many years and later worked for the Dubuque Community School District transportation department. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the Firefighter's Association and the Dubuque Lions Club.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sydney Hartley. *
Surviving are his wife, Mary Louise; 2 daughters, Mrs. Owen (Karen) Thorson of Maquoketa, Iowa and Mrs. Matthew (Nancy) Stone of Omaha, Nebraska; 2 grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Mabel Hartley and a brother Lester Hartley, both of Dubuque, Iowa.
