Obituary August H. Kurk
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at St. John’s Evangelical church, Wheatland for August H. Kurk, 60, of New Albin, who died Wednesday, April 10, at the home of his sister, Mrs. Ida Renk. Rev. Armin Suedmeyer officiated and interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
Mr. Kurk had been an invalid for almost six years due to a paralytic stroke. He was the oldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kurk and was born Feb. 8, 1880, in Schalle, West Fahlei, Germany. On Nov. 11, 1914, he was united in marriage to Ida Dresselhaus who preceded him in death on May 20, 1932. They settled in New Albin where Mr. Kurk operated a garage, being a mechanic by trade.
Deceased is survived by four brothers and three sisters, namely, Mrs. Wm. G. Renk, Mrs. Henry Renk, Mrs. Ida Renk, Paul and Henry Kurk, all of New Albin; Otto and Herman Kurk, Jr., of Eitzen, Minn.
Casket bearers were his six nephews, Alvin, Roy, Herbert and Otto Renk, Wm. P. Kruse and Elmer Brinker.
May his soul rest in peace.
