Death of Aged Lady.
It has pleased the Almighty God in His Divine Prividence to remove the beloved wife and mother, Mrs. Henry Renk, from the scene of her temporal labor.
Anna Maria Dorothea Meyer was born at Beverbeak Hanover, Germany, Dec. 29, 1851, and on Jan. 8, 1875, was united in marriage to Henry Renk.
To this union were born five children, one son Fred, preceding the mother in death in 1885. In 1890 she, with her husband and family, came to America and settled on a farm in Union City township, which has been their home ever since.
Deceased had been in poor health for nearly three years, but was around the house most of the time. April 12th she suffered a paralytic stroke and remained unconscious until passing peacefully away at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, April 14th. She leaves a husband and four sons, William, Henry, August, and Herman, to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother. She is also survived by one brother, George C. Meyer, and ten grandchildren, who will always honor and revere her name. Neighbors and friends will also miss this good woman for well they remember in the early years, when doctors were not so conveniently reached, how she ministered to the sick and prolonged their lives by her self-sacrifice, thus winning the esteem of all by her kind and generous helpfulness. But this devoted wife, loving mother and good neighbor has finished her work and with faith in God and love to her great Savior, has passed out of the earthly home to the blessed live beyond the sorrows of earth. Funeral services were held April 17th at St. John’s Evangelical Church, Wheatland, Rev. Zielinsky officiating, burial in the cemetery close by.Death date 13 April 1932
