John Tierney, a resident of Lansing many years ago, and at one time a prosperous merchant of Lafayette, then a steamboat landing and almost as big as Lansing, has died recently in Texas, where he has resided for eight or ten years past.

His mother and several grown up children are living in this vicinity.
