Mrs. Wm. Stock Died at 89 in Nebraska Home

Mrs. William Stock, Lexington, Nebr., the former Mathilda Menke passed away on her birthday, Oct. 12 at the age of 88 years.

She was born at Waukon in 1871, a daughter of the late Herman and Charlotte Menke. The family settled near Plum Creek, Nebr., in 1882.

She was affiliated with the Buffalo Grove Presbyterian church at an early age and continued as an active member until her death.

On Nov. 23, 1899, she was united in marriage to William Stock by the late Rev. M.F. W. Engelke. They settled on a farm near Waukon where they remained for three years, moving to Nebraska in 1903.

They were the parents of five children, Walter, Alfred, Edwin, Willis and Doris, now Mrs. Lloyd Zauha, all of Lexington.

Preceding her in death were a son, Alfred, her husband, William, three brothers and two sisters.

Surviving are the four named children, also 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren, two brothers, John Menke of Cozad, Nebr., and Henry Menke of Long Beach, Calif. She also leaves many nephews and nieces and a host of friends.
