WHALEY, ANDERSON, EVANSON

Chetek - R.S. Whaley, known to Chetek citizens as "Uncle Rob," died at Barron on Nov. 14 at the age of 91 years, after a short illness caused from an infection in his foot.

R.S. Whaley was born at Waukon, Iowa, Dec. 23, 1838, where he lived until middle age, working at the milling trade with his father. Later in his life he spent his time boating and rafting on the Mississippi river.

"Uncle Rob", as he was generally known, came to Chetek years ago and had made his home here ever since. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Loretta Anderson, of Boca Raton, Fla., a nephew, Elmer Anderson, and family of Chetek, and C.E. Evanson of Seattle, Wash.

Funeral services were held at the Advent Christian church Sunday afternoon, the Rev. J. Hulbert officiating. Interment was made in the Lake View cemetery.
