The death of Theodore Bakke, 75, of Waukon, occurred on Monday, January 7, at the Veterans Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. from the West Paint Creek Synod Lutheran Church, Rev. Thomas Mickelson officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.

He was born on May 17, 1898, in Allamakee county to John and Ingaborg Gilbertson Bakke. He was a retired farmer. He was married on March 10, 1936 to Gladys Fossum, who survives with one son, Donald, of Waterville, and a daughter, Lois, Mrs. Herman Willger, of Waukon. Also surviving are five grandchildren and three brothers, Melvin, Ingvold and Paul, and two sisters, Mrs. Albert (Gusta) Roe and Miss Idelia Bakke, all of Waukon. Martin Bros. Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
