The death of Mrs. Melvin Bakke occurred on Monday at the Veterans Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be on Thursday afternoon at 1:30 p.m., from the West Synod Lutheran Church with interment in the church cemetery.

On January 18, 1887, Minnie Johnson was born in Makee township, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Johnson. She was married on Feb. 18, 1909, to Melvin Bakke and they farmed for many years, more recently retiring to make their home in Waukon. Mr. Bakke survives as does a daughter Julia, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Grangard, Waterville and Mrs. Helen Bakke, Waukon.

Martin Bros. Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
