BAKKE, GILBERTSON, KNUDTSON, MARTIN, WINKE, HANGARTNER, ROE

The death of Ottenus Bakke, 79, occurred at Northgate Manor on Wednesday. He had been in ill health for a number of years. Funeral services were held from the West Synod Lutheran Church, near Elon, on Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. with interment in the church cemetery near by. The Rev. Milton Tweite officiated at the service.

Ottenus Bakke was born in Center township on January 27, 1890, a son of John B. [sic] and Ingelborg Gilbertson Bakke. He was married on February 27, 1930 to Clara Knudtson. They farmed in Center township until a few years ago when they moved to Waukon.

Survivors are his wife, three daughters, Arlene, Mrs. Roger Martin and Shirley, Mrs. James Winke of Waukon; and Joyce, Mrs. Ronald Hangartner, Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren; four brothers, Ingold, Paul, Melvin and Theodore Bakke, and two sisters, Gusta, Mrs. Alert Roe and Miss Idelia Bakke, all of Waukon.

Martin Bros. Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
