John P. Bakke Dies At Age of 86 Years
Many friends mourn the death of John P. Bakke, whose clean and honorable life endeared him to all who formed his acquaintance He passed away at ten o'clock Tuesday evening, following a few week's illness due to a stroke, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A.H. Roe, in Center township.

There his marriage to Isabelle Gilbertson, a young lady born and reared in that vicinity took place. They settled on a forty acre tract her father gave them and by thrift and energy became owners of 260 acres of the best land in that township. Mrs. Bakke passed away in 1935, and since her death Mr. Bakke has found enjoyment in visiting among his children, all of whom survive to mourn the loss of a beloved parent. They are: Cornelius, Ingval, Melvin, Julius, Mrs. A.H. Roe, Ottenus, Idelia, Paul and Theodore, all of this vicinity, and Mrs. H.A. Ellefson of Aberdeen, Wash.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11:30 at the West Paint Creek church, conducted by the Rev. J.B. Unseth. Burial will be in the family lot in the nearby cemetery.
