Mr. L.M. Nelson, on Monday morning last, lost the light and joy of his household in the death of his youngest child, little Elfred, aged about 18 months. Chronic croup was the cause of his death.

Note: Named in the 'Woodmansee' cemetery book as Alfred Nelson, rather than Elfred as in the obit. The contributor does not know which is correct. He is buried in Oak Hill cemetery, Lansing
