H.W. Foltz, Esq., who settled in Galena, Ill., in 1843, and will be remembered by many of our old citizens who formerly resided in that town, died at his home there on Tuesday, the 23d inst., of paralysis. He was 76 years old, and was a brother-in-law of Mrs. Welsh, of this city.

The 'Gazette' of Galena says: Mr. F. was attacked with a paralytic stroke soon after rising from his bed, and fell heavily to the floor. He was assisted to the bed again by his son who had slept with him during the night and was soon visited by Dr. Kittoe. This morning he felt sufficiently well to dress and was intending to walk down to Main St., but about 8 o'clock was attacked with a second and more severe shock, which resulted in death a few hours later.
