MAY, POOLE, MILKS, BELLOWS

Waukon, Ia., Nov. 13- Funral services were held Wednesday morning for Mrs. Louisa May, a pioneer resident of Allamakee county, who died at her home in New Albin Sunday. Services were conducted at the family home by the Rev. J.H. Barr, pastor of the Methodist church and burial was made in the family lot in the New Albin cemetery. Casket bearers were James Spinner, Ronald May, Kermit Fitschen, Leon May, Alvin Wilde and Haword Steele.

Mrs. May, whose maiden name was Louisa Poole, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Poole, was born at [sic] 1839, and at age of 11 years came with her parents to America, settling at Elgin, Ill., later moving to Allamakee county.

On March 9, 1856, she was married to Henry H. May and to them were born eight children, five of them and her husband preceding her in death. The remaining survivors are George, Frank and Charles May, all of New Albin, and two sisters, Mrs. George Milks, Boise City, Idaho; and Mrs. Hannah Bellows, New Albin
