Mrs. Eva Nicolay, mother of Joseph Nicolay, formerly of this place, died at the home of her son in Postville last week. Julius Rieth attended the funeral. The lady was 68 years old.

Note: Burial is in Postville cemetery Area B. Her inscription 6/19/1819-2/20/1888 is on the same gravestone as Anton & Pauline (Verver) Staadt & Anthony Staadt. The large gravestone has both Nicolay and Staadt surnames engraved on the base.
