Word reached here Monday of the death in Chicago of Mrs. Margaret Byrne, an old time resident of this neighborhood and a most highly esteemed woman. Particulars on the Lansing page.

Relatives hereabouts received the news Sunday of the passing of Mrs. Margaret Byrne, whose death occurred at 6 o'clock that morning at her home in Chicago, after a lingering illness following a stroke of paralysis.

Deceased was aged about 62 years and she was born in Taylor township, her maiden name being Margaret Ryan. In 1888 she was united in marriage to Ben Byrne, who with one daughter in infancy and a grown young man, Joe, a few months ago in Chicago, preceded her to the grave.

Surviving are one son, John, and four daughters, Mrs. Ila Duntamon, Mrs. Mabel Siewers, Mary and Katherine, all of Chicago; also three brothers, J.W. and N.F. Ryan of Harpers Ferry and Patrick Ryan of Chicago.

The funeral is being held in Chicago today. Mrs. Byrne was truly the highest type of a Christian mother, kind neighbor and friend, and her death will cause sorrow, not only to her family and relatives, but to a host of old friends and acquaintances hereabouts.
