Death of Hon. Levi Hubbell.
The funeral of Hon. Levi Hubbell, who died at Waukon Dec. 23, was held there the 27th with large attendance. Mr. Hubbell was born in Fairfield county, Connecticut, in 1826. He was a farmer boy and his education to 19 years of age was received in the public schools. He spent two and one-half years at Oneida institute, Whitesboro, N. Y. After leaving Whitesboro he taught five years. In 186(?) he settled upon a farm near Frankville, Iowa. He organized three creameries. He was married in 1860 to Miss Jane E. Wittel and two sons were born to this union, William, now of Washington Prairie, and George L., of Minneapolis. Mr. Hubbell twice represented Winneshiek county in the legislature of Iowa.

E. P. Williams and wife attended his uncle Mr. Hubbel’s funeral at Waukon Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Hubbell were called to Waukon last week on account of the serious illness of the former’s father, S. Hubbell, who passed away on Friday evening after a short sickness.
