Mrs. August Simmons died at the home of her son, J. H., near Waukon, Saturday, January 9th. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon and interment in the cemetery near the Zalmona church.
She leaves to mourn five sons and one daughter: August, Fred, Paul, Albert, all of Lexington, Neb., and Mrs. F. Krieger of Scotland, S.D. They were all present at the funeral except Albert.

Mrs. Wilhelmine Auguste Simons[sic], was born at Rafeld, Lippe-Detmold, Germany, April 24, 1835, and died Saturday, January 9th, 1915, aged 79 years.
She was united in marriage with August Simons, who died in 1897. They came to America and located in Ludlow township in 1860.
She is survived by six children, August, Fred, Paul and Albert of Lexington, Nebraska; John of Waukon and Mrs. Fred Krieger of Tripp, South Dakota, and thirteen grandchildren, besides other relatives.
The children wish to extend thanks to all neighbors and friends for kindly assistance during the illness and after the death and burial of their mother.
