O. J. Sanderman Funeral Rites Were Monday

Last rites were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, for Otto John Sanderman, who died Aug. 24 after being in poor health for four years. The services were held at Salem Reformed church with the Rev. Mr. Walter G. Clausing officiating. Burial was in Salem Reformed cemetery, with Martin's in charge.
Pallbearers were Urban Sanderman, Neal Sanderman, Dale Hesse, Roger Hesse, Art Hesse and Ed Flage.

Mr. Sanderman was a native of Ludlow township where he was born June 30, 1877, son of Conrad and Caroline Hager Sanderman. He lived in Ludlow township until 1934 when he moved to Waukon which has been his home ever since.

Mary Meier became his wife Feb. 26, 1902, in a ceremony at the Meier family home in Ludlow township. She remains as do two daughters, Mrs. Alfred (Esther) Snitker and Mrs. Florence Harris, Waukon. A son, Edwin died in 1952. There are five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A brother also remains. He is Simon Sanderman of Seattle Wash.

Educated in the local schools, Mr. Sanderman was a farmer until he retired. He was a member of Salem Reformed church.
