Linden Citizen Dead
A Good Man Has Gone to His Eternal Reward
Rev. F. G. Lemme died at his home in Linden township at 7:30 a.m. last Monday, June 9, 1919 after an illness which had confined him to his bed for three years.

Deceased was of Saxon nativity but came when 18 years of age to this country with his mother who established their home at Waukon, Iowa. He studied for the ministry at a seminary in Dubuque and after completing his education was for fifteen years pastor of a church in that city. He then came to Winnebago county locating eight miles southwest of Thompson. He organized the reformed church in Linden township and effected the erection of a church building which was located upon his farm. He was pastor of this church conducting the services continuously until his illness terminated his work.

On May 6, 1886 he was united in marriage at Waukon, Iowa with Miss Lydia Bauercamper. Fourteen children, seven sons and seven daughters were born to their union, all of whom with their mother, survived him. The children are Ben, of Waukon, Iowa, David of Lexington, Neb., Paul of St.Paul, Minn., Mrs. Joseph Charlson of Forest City, Mrs. Conrad DeLap of Lexington, Neb., Daniel who is serving his country with the American forces in France, and Carl, Ruth, Paula, Alma, Amos, Theodore, Sarah and Clara who are at home. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Conrad Sandwald of Scotland, S.D. and Mrs. August Buchhloz of Lexington, Neb., and by six grandchildren.

All of his surviving relative except Daniel, his soldier son, are expected to be present at his funeral which is to be held today with services in the church which he served so long and well, conducted by Rev. Otto Menke of Sch__, Iowa and probably also by Rev. Huedling of Breda, Iowa, who was his first professor in the seminary at Dubuque. Internment will be made in the Crystal Lake Cemetery.

Rev. Lemme was a man of fine ability. He lived a life that was fully consistent in every respect with the sacred calling and won for him the confidence and esteem of the community in which he has so long resided. His good wife and large family they have reared, all of whom are worthy of their parentage, have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement.
